Chief Plenty Coups of the Crow

Plenty Coups (1848-1932) was both a political and religious leader for the Crow nation.  Contrary to the politics practiced by the neighboring Sioux and Cheyenne tribes which opposed white settlement. Plenty Coup encouraged alliances with European settlers and education for the Crow.
